Child Care Assistance Program - Important Update

Updated: Jul 30

Dear Child Care Assistance Program Parent,

As you know, the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) will be closed to new applications, starting on August 1, 2025. This will not affect you. As long as you remain eligible for the program, you will continue to receive CCAP benefits beyond August 1 and through your redetermination (when your case is reviewed).

The change that will affect you is an increase to copays. If you have a copay, it may go up at your next regularly scheduled redetermination. Under the new copay rate, most families will be paying 6% of their income for full-time care, but the exact amount will be included in your agreement. Copayments will continue to be waived for families whose income is at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Level. Additionally, no new children will be added to existing cases after July 31, 2025.

We hope this helps to clear up some confusion you may have about the changes to the Child Care Assistance Program. If you still have questions, contact your Child Care Resource and Referral Agency.
