Community Coordinated Child Care collaborates with community organizations, corporations, public schools, government agencies and the entire child care community on a multitude of programs to strengthen families living in the region. Staff advises and works closely with local school district to implement state-mandated preschool and full day kindergarten programs in Elizabeth, Hillside, Linden, Rahway, Roselle and Plainfield Child Assault Prevention Program teaches children, preschool through grade 12, to be safe, strong and free. PIECES Plainfield's Initiative For Early Childhood Education Services and the Plainfield Center for Stronger Families are two community projects serving families of young children in the City of Plainfield. Through PIECES, CCCC collaborates between the school district and community providers to implement the preschool mandate. As a partner in the Plainfield Center for Stronger Families, CCCC works to improve the quality of child care and related services throughout the community. Staff members provide technical assistance and training of early care practitioners and teachers through the Early Childhood Institute. Preschool Initiatives, mandated by the New Jersey Department of Education, requires seven districts in Union County to provide free educational programs for preschoolers. Community Coordinated Child Care works closely with the districts of Elizabeth, Hillside, Linden, Plainfield, Rahway and Roselle, providing technical assistance and forging cooperation between the entire early childhood community.
